Welcome to the Arts Show on Galway Bay FM presented by Gary McMahon.

The Arts Show in its current format has been running for about six years. It is broadcast on Galway Bay FM in Galway City and County on 95.8 and 96.8 fm and live on the web at www.galwaybayfm.ie between 8.00pm and 9.00pm (Irish Time) every Friday.

Bringing listeners what's happening in the arts in Galway city and county, the show features reviews and previews of theatre, dance, film, literature events, festivals, music and anything else that might generally be of interest under the general heading of Arts & Culture.

The show is presented by Gary McMahon. Gary used to work for Galway Arts Centre, Macnas, even Druid at one time and has a failed career as an actor behind him.

The mission statement of the Arts Show is simple: we don't have one. BUT, just because it's not on BBC Radio 4, NPR or even on a National Station here in Ireland doesn't mean it shouldn't be interesting, lively or informative. It's geared to a general audience who might have an interest in the arts. It presumes nothing of its audience except that it's no dumber than the people presenting it.

We'll try to upadate this blog with running orders for each week's show and to list the music we play on it.
